“From 1997 to 2004, seven sessions of symposiums were held. In September 2003, International Sculpture Conference was held successfully. Up till now, 296 sculptors from 130 countries have created 341 sculptures for the city representing diverse kinds of artistic styles from around the world. The sculptures are all displayed in Changchun World Sculpture Park. The park covers 92 hectares, in which a specialized Sculpture Gallery covers 12.5 thousand square kilometers, holding nearly 100 excellent works created by national and international well-known sculptors and over 500 African Makonde wood sculptures with unique style.
With the theme of “Friendship, Peace and Spring”, the 8th Changchun China International Sculpture Symposium, which lasts for about 40 days, will be held from July to August, 2006, for further promoting international cultural exchanges and improving Changchun urban sculpture construction.”

A great tour through Kattenburg, Wittenburg, Oostenburg, het Funen, de Kadijken en het Entrepotdok. It was quite an experience to visit Vierwindenhouse. But most remarkable were paintings of Helcia Cino in Oosterkerk…

Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam dedicated this exhibition to 10 years
(1937 - 1947) that Max Beckmann spent living and working in Amsterdam.
Around 100 paintings, including four ( of five ) monumental tryptichs,
but also letters, photographs and diaries from this period are to be seen from April the 6th untill 19th of August. [ link ]
At the same time, Bijbels Museum in Amsterdam is showing 27 lithographies Max Beckmann made on a theme from bible: The Apocalypse. [ link ]

Dreams of Staircase
Interview with the great artist and friend of mine has changed my life. I was already looking for more information about the guy since I haven’t seen him for a while. Then, I contacted him and discovered he is just busy with exhibition in Warszawa, and a theater play.
There is some more on his project in Israel.
I am looking forwards to see him and his work here in Amsterdam again.
